Ryan Smith currently holds the positions of Shadow Minister for Roads & Infrastructure and Shadow Minister for Industry in the Coalition's Shadow Cabinet.

Before entering Parliament, Ryan’s career spanned 18 years in the financial markets, working for a number of Australia’s leading institutions including the Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank, BP Finance and Pacific Dunlop.

In 2006, Ryan was elected as the Member for Warrandyte, located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.  A passionate representative for his local community, Ryan represents the suburbs of Wonga Park, Donvale, Park Orchards, Doncaster East, Warrandyte, South Warrandyte, North Warrandyte and Warranwood.

In 2008, Ryan was appointed the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Environment & Arts and in 2009 he was promoted to the Shadow Cabinet as the Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations and Manufacturing.

In 2010 Ryan as sworn in as the Minister for Environment & Climate Change and Minister for Youth Affairs as part of the Baillieu and Napthine Coalition Governments.

Bringing together his experiences in the commercial sector, and as a Member of Parliament and Minister, Ryan is committed to providing Victorians with a common sense approach to delivering the services and infrastructure that Victoria needs.
